The emergence of diseases in wildlife populations is influenced by a variety of factors, including environmental changes, habitat fragmentation, climate change, and increased human-wildlife interactions. These factors can disrupt ecosystems, alter species behaviors, and create conditions that facilitate the spread of pathogens. Understanding these drivers is essential for predicting and mitigating the emergence of new diseases that could threaten wildlife and, potentially, human health.

The goal is to deepen our understanding of the challenges posed by wildlife diseases and to explore innovative approaches for mitigating their effects in a way that supports both conservation and ecosystem health.
