Global Perspectives and Challenges in Wildlife Conservation
Global Perspectives and
Challenges in Wildlife Conservation
Wildlife conservation is a complex and multifaceted endeavor, particularly when viewed from a global perspective. This session aims to address the broad challenges that wildlife conservation faces across different regions and ecosystems, and to explore potential solutions that can be applied at a global scale. As wildlife populations worldwide confront an array of threats, understanding these challenges from a comprehensive perspective is crucial for developing effective conservation strategies.

This session invites contributions that focus on large-scale challenges such as invasive species and land use change, all of which are reshaping ecosystems and threatening biodiversity. We also welcome discussions on more localized but equally significant issues like wildlife conservation in conflict zones, where political instability and human activities compound the difficulties of protecting vulnerable species.

Additionally, this session will invites abstracts investigating the impacts of habitat loss and fragmentation and the complex dynamics of the wildlife trade. By considering these issues in a global context, we aim to identify patterns, share successful case studies, and propose innovative strategies that can be adapted and applied across different regions and conservation contexts.

In this sub-theme, we encourage broad-picture discussions and solutions, while also welcoming case studies that highlight specific instances of these global challenges. The goal is to foster a holistic understanding of the global forces affecting wildlife and to identify actionable steps that can be taken to mitigate these threats.
