The congress
The International Wildlife Congress 2025 is a joint arrangement of the 37th International Union of Wildlife Biologists (IUGB), the 18th Nordic Congress of Wildlife Research (NKV), and the 16th Perdix Symposium, in collaboration with EuroMammals.
International Union of Wildlife Biologists
The International Union of Game Biologists (IUGB) is a non-profit organisation that aims at promoting and advancing knowledge of game biology and related field studies, encompassing aspects such as animal population management and the preservation of habitats. The goals of this organisation are promoted through a biennial conference that has been a consistent occurrence since 1954 when the first conference took place in Germany.

Nordic Board for Wildlife Research
The Nordic Board for Wildlife Research (NKV) was established in 1971 after a recommendation from the Nordic Council of Ministers in 1968. The purpose of NKV is to promote wildlife research within the Nordic region, with particular emphasis on the continuous improvement of research quality and quantity, and the dissemination of knowledge both within the scientific and general communities.
Perdix Symposium
The Perdix series was founded in the 1960s and has joined the IUGB conference series following the meetings in Limassol (Cyprus) in 2001 and Braga (Portugal) in 2003. Perdix XXI invites all Galliform specialists from around the globe to join our conference to share their latest research findings, determine conservation action needs, and to coordinate possible future research projects.
EuroMammals
The EUROMAMMALS bottom-up initiative has pioneered collaborative science in spatial animal ecology since 2007. It involves dozens of institutions from Europe and beyond, organised in multiple networks, to address scientific, management and conservation questions regarding terrestrial mammal species in Europe, with a focus on spatial ecology.
